Marcus Charles is a Seattle-based entrepreneur with nearly three decades of experience building and operating hospitality, live music, and consumer brands. He entered the industry at age 23 with the opening of Marcus’ Martini Heaven and has since founded, acquired, and operated influential venues including bad juju lounge, Neumo’s, and Local 360. From 2000 to 2012, he co-owned and operated the Capitol Hill Block Party, helping establish it as one of the West Coast’s leading independent music festivals. In 2008, Charles was the lead investor for the revival of the iconic Crocodile Café, serving as general partner through its relaunch and remaining a significant long-term investor.

Following the passage of Washington State Initiative 502, Charles co-founded JUJU Joints, which was acquired by Canopy Growth in 2018. He is also the co-founder of Seattle Event Solutions, now rebranded as Cascade Music Group, which was awarded the joint producer and concessionaire role for Marymoor Live in 2022 and is actively pursuing the acquisition of the Crocodile’s assets alongside other current investors to secure the venue’s long-term, locally owned future. Cesiley Peterson

Controller

Cesiley Peterson was raised in a small town in Southeast Texas, where she developed discipline, leadership, and teamwork at an early age through performing arts and athletics. She began dance and competitive cheer at age three, coached an all-star cheer team by eighteen, and later cheered in college. While earning her degree, she balanced weekend bartending—advancing to lead bartender and trusted closer—with a bookkeeping internship that sparked her interest in financial operations. Alongside her professional development, Cesiley remained active in community theater, performing in productions such as The Hobbit and The Rocky Horror Picture Show, experiences that reinforced her confidence, adaptability, and collaborative mindset.

Now an accomplished, detail-oriented accounting professional, Cesiley brings hands-on experience across multiple industries with a strong command of core accounting principles, audit readiness, compliance, and financial transparency. Deeply curious about technology, she is driven to understand how systems work beneath the surface—from data processing and troubleshooting to thoughtful software design. This curiosity fuels her focus on integrating accounting with automation, data analytics, cybersecurity, and fraud examination. Her work centers on streamlining workflows, strengthening internal controls, rapidly identifying anomalies, and safeguarding financial data—delivering smarter financial management and proactive risk prevention at scale.
